NYC is bracing for a meteorological showdown that will test city defenses. Are we overestimating the calm following this morning’s squall? A second, potentially more serious wave of severe weather is definitely headed our way, putting flood watches in effect and increasing the threat of damaging winds. The first storm that hit Tuesday morning managed to miss the city center, keeping NYC thankfully out of the main action. However, that only buys us time; the National Weather Service is already warning that the threat is shifting westward and southward. The Flood Watch Reality The situation is escalating rapidly.
